The
Uncanny
Raven
The Empress of Ice Cream
An unlikely story from an
unlikely woman.
Inspiration derived from The Truck Stop Killer murders and commentary on the media's biased approaches when portraying these victims. They were foremost humans and women—that is the only importance to who they were, not what their line of work was. The media always wants to lessen the importance of these lost lives by giving the "prostitute" title and nothing more. I wanted to write a piece in backlash to this fact that occurs with numerous murder cases involving prostitutes and bring a little bit of a feminist spin on taking justice into your own hands.
Also, a little inspiration, of course, from Wallace Stevens' poem, "The Emperor of Ice-Cream."
